What is Mystery Science Theater 3000?

Well, for those of you who don't know, I suppose I could tell you. Mystery 
Science Theater 3000, aka MST3K, is a really funny show on the Sci-Fi 
Channel. It airs Saturdays, check local listings.

The show features a human, Mike Nelson, up in space with his robot 
"friends", Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot, built by Joel Robinson, who used to 
be the host, but he returned to Earth. These three watch really bad movies, 
usually Sci-Fi movies, or 50s and 60s movies. They are forced to watch them 
as part of an experiment.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Doctor Clayton Forrester sends these movies to 
Mike. He is the mad scientist who started this experiment. His not-too 
bright assistant, TV's Frank, helps him, but Frank also left the show. 
Currently, Dr. Forrester's mother lives with him.

Then, on May 18, 1996, Dr. Forrester had a massive budget cut. He was forced 
to "pull the plug" on the Satellite of Love. Soon afterwards, Mike and the 
'bots headed to the edge of the universe, and turned into pure energy.

Several thousands of years later (give or take a millenium or two) the crew 
returns to the Satellite of Love, which was redesigned by Crow (who at first 
has no memory of Mike). They soon discover Mrs. Pearl Forrester on Earth 
which has become a planet of apes. Mike destroys Earth, but Mrs. Forrester 
and one of the apes, Professor Bobo, escapes.

Soon enough, they encounter a planet of people that are pure energy that 
have evolved beyond the needs of a body, therefore, the bodies carry their 
brains in trays. That planet was also destroyed, and Forrester, Bobo, and 
one of the "Observers", escape, and land on yet another planet.

After encountering some Space Children, that planet is also blown-up, but 
the three escape. Eventually, Professor Bobo gets sucked into a wormhole, as 
does Pearl and the Observer, and the SOL. They appear in Roman times, where 
Pearl and "Brain Guy" pose as Gods. There, they retrieve Bobo, and 
eventually get sucked into another wormhole which brings them to a castle.

Eventually Pearl and friends make a home for themselves, but eventually give 
up the experiment as the Satellite falls out of orbit.  Mike and the bots 
now live together in an apartment and watch crappy movies every weekend.
